Violin, Viola and Chamber Music Masterclass with Pablo Hernán Benedí and Jonian-Ilias Kadesha.

Municipal Conservatory & Philharmonic Amphitheatre of Kalamata
September 1 – 8, 2024

The violin, viola and chamber music masterclass with Pablo Hernán Benedí and Jonian-Ilias Kadesha will be held from September 1 until September 8, 2024, in rooms of the Municipal Conservatory and the Philharmonic Amphitheatre of Kalamata. Participants will have the opportunity to attend classes with both tutors.

This masterclass gives the opportunity to young violinists, violists and ensembles to develop their musical and technical skills whilst also assisting them to reach their personal goals. Musicians and ensembles preparing for exams, competitions or auditions are of course welcome. Through a small group, the festival is cultivating an inspiring and friendly environment for the best possible development of each musician. At the same time, the masterclass participants have the chance to appear frequently together on stage, invigorating as a result the international artistic exchange, inspiration and musical dialogue of the International Kalamata Music Days. The concerts will be held in Kalamata.

The masterclass with Pablo Hernán Benedí and Jonian-Ilias Kadesha is aimed at young violinists, violists and ensembles from all around the world and of all ages – from those aiming to study music to students and graduates of conservatories and music universities. The masterclasses will be open to the broader public. Students of the Municipal Conservatory of Kalamata (including students other than violinists and violists) are invited to attend and get inspired.

Already existing chamber music ensembles (for example duets, piano trios, string quartets etc.), that are interested in participating in the masterclass are very welcomed.

Lesson languages: English, Greek, German and Spanish

Number of all lessons: 5

The cost of active participation in the violin and/or viola masterclass is 400 € per person. Participation in the chamber music masterclass costs 500 € per ensemble. These prices do not include accommodation in Kalamata. If you wish, you can book your stay at partner hotels at reduced prices through the masterclass participation application.

An active participation in the masterclass is only possible after application through the website and admission by the tutors.

Application deadline: July 31, 2024! The receipt of a large number of exceptional applications may however lead to an early closing of the deadline.
