Arionas Gyftakis’ Jazz Quartet – A post mainstream jazz project
With Tzortzis Tsiropoulos (tenor saxophone), Gabriele Milozzi (alto saxophone), Arionas Gyftakis (double bass) and Anastasis Gouliaris (drums)
Bold sound with angles that feels quite rough to the ear and balances between an extroversion and an innerness. With inspiration drawn from Charles Mingus, Thelonious Monk and Steve Lacy, the quartet’s original compositions and solos can be characterized as expressionistic.

(The public concert was cancelled due to the three-day national mourning for the victims of the Mati Wildfire on 23.07.2018. It was converted into a closed seminar for Early Music given by the musicians for the masterclasses’ participants at the Philharmonic Amphitheatre of Kalamata.)
