Violoncello Masterclass with Jean-Guihen Queyras.

This year’s violoncello masterclass with Jean-Guihen Queyras will be held from August 24 until August 30, 2025, in rooms of the Municipal Conservatory of Kalamata. 

This masterclass gives young cellists the opportunity to develop their musical and technical skills whilst also assisting them in reaching their personal goals, such as preparation for competitions and auditions. Through a small group of a maximum of four students, the festival is cultivating an inspiring and friendly environment for the best possible development of each musician. Each active participant will have the chance to present a work at the final concert of the violoncello masterclass, which will be held in Kalamata.

All the workshops and masterclasses of the festival are open to the public.

Lesson languages: English, French and German

The cost of active participation in the violoncello masterclass is 500 € per person. This price does not include accommodation in Kalamata. 

Active participation in the masterclass is only possible after applying through the website and admission by the violoncello tutor. 

Requirements for the application:

• Videos of two contrasting pieces representing your current level.
