The vocal workshop with mezzo-soprano Ema Nikolovska and pianist Cole Knutson will be held from August 28 until September 4, 2025, in rooms of the Municipal Conservatory of Kalamata.
This workshop gives singers and duos (voice and piano) the opportunity to develop their musical and technical skills whilst also assisting them in reaching their personal goals, such as preparation for competitions and auditions. Through a small group of a maximum of five students/duos, the festival is cultivating an inspiring and friendly environment for the best possible development of each musician. The workshop will be tailored to individual needs. Once accepted, you will have a consultation to arrange a schedule. Each active participant or duo will have the chance to present themselves at the final concert of the vocal workshop, which will be held in Kalamata.
All the workshops and masterclasses of the festival are open to the public.

The cost of active participation in the vocal workshop is 500 € per person (solo submission) or 700 € per duo. These prices do not include accommodation in Kalamata.
Active participation in the workshop is only possible after applying through the website and admission by the tutors.

BIO
Macedonian-Canadian mezzo-soprano Ema Nikolovska began her musical journey as a violinist, and it is with a sense of innate musicianship that sees her embody characters musical and operatic “with poise and impact” (Opera Today). She is an Alumna of the International Opera Studio at the Deutsche Staatsoper Berlin where in 2023 she made her role debut as Octavian in “Der Rosenkavalier”. In the 2023/24 season, Ema made her house and role debut as the Fox in Janáček’s “The Cunning Little Vixen” at the Canadian Opera Company, and her debut at the Royal Opera House’s Linbury Theatre singing the lead role in George Benjamin’s “Picture a Day Like This”. In concert, she recently made her debut in Japan singing Mozart arias with the NHK Symphony and Petr Popelka, and already a celebrated recitalist, Ema has partnered in recent seasons with Martha Argerich, Sir András Schiff, Charles Richard-Hamelin and Sean Shibe.
